I went out for the nearby kitchen appliance store to check out a new microwave oven, giving up within our kitchen the existing one - damaged from a bold experiment carried out by a 6 year old boy. Browsing the flyers and also digging on the internet, one of the brand names towards the top of my thoughts was the Jenn Air microwave.

Another good factor - at least for me - is the drop-down door (as opposed to the older side open up type) which in turn allows me the biggest amount of space to place plates within, and likewise captures any unintentional splatters whenever I am taking plates in or out. With children running in and out of the cooking area at meal time, having that extra protection is actually a great point!

Having seen them inside the store and doing price comparisons and other manufacturers, I chose the 30" Over-The-Range Microwave with convection. The space inside is spacious enough that I can prepare our traditional Christmas meal, and there is an awesome interior fan that captures smoke and steam - a feature the last microwave didn't have, which concluded in dampness congregating and also odours.
